Alison Jenkins • The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Canadian Red Cross has opened a disaster shelter in Charlottetown as recovery efforts from post-tropical storm Fiona continue in the capital city.

The shelter is open at the Murchison Centre at 17 St. Pius X Ave. for those needing temporary relocation. The shelter is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and includes beds, bedding, power, food and water. Islanders needing transportation to the shelter can call 1-833-335-0543 and leave a voicemail or go directly to the Murchison Centre for intake.

Two reception centres offering Wi-Fi, water, snacks and power to charge devices are open in Charlottetown Sunday until 4 p.m. Those are located at the Hillsborough Park Community Centre on 199 Patterson Dr. and the Malcolm J.
