Burnley have provided another update on Lyle Foster's absence from squad, saying the South African is fighting recurring mental health issues.
Burnley confirmed on Thursday that Lyle Foster, their South Africa forward, has entered specialist care to provide him with the support and help needed to get him back to full health.But the 23-year-old has not featured in the club’s last two matches and on Thursday the club released an official statement regarding his mysterious absence.said that Foster “reached out for help” and that they’re doing “all we can to provide everything he needs to get better”.
“He is currently in the care of specialists – giving him the support and care he needs to help him back to full health.” “We ask for your understanding and respect Lyle Foster’s privacy around this matter and will not be making any more comment until further notice.”“Lyle Foster has been having issues with his mental well being and as a club, we’ve very quickly, naturally made the decision to fully support him, support his family,” Kompany told Sky Sports.
