It comes just after the collapsed retailer announced the first wave of store closures this morning.
Poundland owner Pepco has reached a deal with Wilko that will see it buy up 71 of the roubled retailer's stores from closing down.
While workers will not be directly transferred as part of the move, Poundland has said that it will "prioritize" existing Wilko employees for roles when its shops joins the Poundland estate. "And once that process is complete, we will ensure a significant number of the Wilko colleagues will join our Poundland team.
"We recognise the last few weeks have been difficult for them and we will move quickly to secure new consents from landlords so we can offer them the certainty they deserve.
