Police have said that 10 people were taken to various hospitals following the crash
that emergency services had raced to respond after a double-decker bus hit a railway bridge on Cook Street at around 11.35am.
Multiple roads in the surrounding area were closed off as officers carried out their enquiries and a number of people were treated at the scene. While initial reports suggested that three passengers were taken to hospital as a result of the incident, police have now confirmed that 10 people were taken to"various hospitals" for treatment.Cops have thanked members of the public for their cooperation throughout the day and have asked that they continue to avoid the area as investigations continue.
Chief inspector Elaine Tomlinson, of Police Scotland's Greater Glasgow Division, said:"Around 11.35am on Sunday, May 21 2023, we received a report of a bus crashing into a bridge on Cook Street, Glasgow."A number of road closures remain in place, with disruption to some rail services. "I would like to thank the public for their cooperation and ask they continue to avoid the area while enquires are ongoing."
