Despite leaving the club before the Cairo Derby, Pitso Mosimane has been blamed for the poor form of Al Ahly's players following their 2-2 draw with Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League. SLInt MORE:
It was announced last week that the South African had left his role as Al Ahly head coach, not long after the team's CAF Champions League final defeat to Wydad Casablanca.
Samy Komsan has since replaced Mosimane in the dugout on an interim basis, starting the role with a 4-1 win over Eastern Company before the Red Devils drew with bitter rivals Zamalek this past weekend. Ex-Egypt assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed refused to point fingers at Komsan, though, like many others did, insisting the team's previous manager was to blame for the seemingly poor fitness levels of the Ahly players.
"Al Ahly players appeared in poor shape during the second half, Mosimane is the one to blame for it," he told"Things like that shouldn't have happened in such a big game between two big clubs." Mosimane left the club after claiming five trophies in his two years as head coach, including two Champions League titles.
