Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune 's long-time rival, Siyabonga Nkosi , has revealed details about his controversial departure from the club for Orlando Pirates in 2018. Nkosi, 34, spent several years at Chiefs, making over 30 appearances and clinching two league titles in 2013 and 2015. However, he often found himself playing second fiddle to the established number one, Itumeleng Khune .
Despite his commitment to Chiefs, Nkosi decided to join Pirates, signing a lucrative contract shortly before his Chiefs contract expired. In an exclusive interview, Nkosi shared that he informed Chiefs officials, including Dr. Irvin Khoza and Bobby Motaung, of his decision to leave. When asked about the circumstances leading to his move, Nkosi explained that he had received a substantial five-year contract offer from Pirates, worth an estimated R15 million, which significantly surpassed his proposed contract renewal with Chiefs.
