The 27-year-old's current deal expires in June, but the club is reportedly considering extending his stay. Since the arrival of coach Nabi, Du Preez has primarily been a substitute, but he has scored two goals in the past four games. Portuguese club Vitoria SC previously attempted to sign Du Preez but were unable to meet Kaizer Chiefs ' asking price.
If Du Preez's contract expires, Vitoria SC could sign him as a free agent in January. However, the club is reportedly close to offering Du Preez a new two-year contract, which would keep him at Kaizer Chiefs until June 2027. With the transfer window opening next month, Kaizer Chiefs are also looking to bring in a new striker to support Du Preez and Ranga Chivaviro
