Pierre Poilievre lays into Liberals, lectures on quantitative easing in response to fall economic statement

It was one of several digs and the underlying theme of the Carleton MP’s impassioned speech that laid into the Liberals on inflation and appealed to the fears and anxieties of Canadians facing difficult, penny-pinching choices. With an economy on the brink of a recession and interest rates expected to climb further, Chrystia Freeland’s mini-budget proposed roughly $30 billion in new spending over six years, aiming to create long-term economic growth and alleviate cost-of-living woes, to some extent, for some Canadians.
