Following two years of rigorous and unbearable training, 11 operatives have been accepted into the South African Police Service's most elite unit, the Special Task Force. | AlexMitchley

Eleven new operatives have passed gruelling training to become part of the police's Special Task Force.group included a woman who was the first female to pass without the programme being amended.

National police commissioner General Fannie Masemola welcomed the new operatives at the SAPS training academy in Tshwane on Thursday. "After your rigorous two years of Special Task Force training, some even longer, there is no doubt in my mind that you know being a member of the Special Task Force is a calling to serve the people of South Africa," Masemola said.
