Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has explained why he won't rest Erling Haaland ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals during the week. Read more ▶️

The Norwegian striker missed the big win over Liverpool last weekend after recovering from an injury he sustained before the international break. However, the Golden Boot leader is set to make his return to action against Southampton on Saturday.“He will be ready.”

Guardiola also explained why Haaland will not be rested along with some other big names, with Bayern Munich coming up in the Champions League on Tuesday.“The last part of the season, no more international break, it depends on us how many games we’re going to play, Premier League for sure, Champions League, FA Cup. Win games we live, don’t win and we are out.”

Haaland currently sits on 28 goals in the Premier League, four goals away from breaking Mohamed Salah's record, which he set in the 2017/2018 season.
