The Rockets played one of their worst halves of the season en route to a blowout loss in...

NEW ORLEANS — The Rockets were never in the game, never seemed to have a chance. Worse, they did not seem to mind until it was too late to do anything about it.The Rockets added another contender to their worst-loss competition, but there is no debate about their worst half of the season.

The Rockets’ 31-point deficit in the first half was two shy of their largest of the season, and that 33-point hole was when they played the second half of a back-to-back in Milwaukee, in the third game of the season, in the Bucks’ home opener. That brought a Pelicans timeout as Rockets starters Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr. and Eric Gordon returned to the floor. Alperen Sengun scored to cap a 12-2 run from late in the third quarter to early in the fourth. The Rockets briefly closed to within 16.But by then, all that was for show, coming far too late to change the rout that was certain long before it seemed to bother the Rockets.Silas was livid about a no call long before he lost it.
