Provincial, federal governments contributing $6.6 million each to infrastructure upgrades
On Friday, Aug. 12, Cory Deagle, P.E.I.’s minister of transportation and infrastructure, Rowan Caseley, mayor of Kensington, Bobby Morrissey, Egmont MP and Health MacDonald, Malpeque MP announced that the federal and provincial governments would be contributing $6.6 million each to repaving roads in rural P.E.I. - Kristin GardinerKENSINGTON, P.E.I. — Over the next year, the province will be repaving close to 99 kilometres of roads in more than 90 rural P.E.I. communities.
Member of parliament for Malpeque Health MacDonald said that the federal government would be contributing $6.6 million towards repaving roads in rural communities across Prince Edward Island. - Kristin Gardiner– a project launched in 2016 with the goal of strengthening the economy in Atlantic Canada – and will create jobs for the middle class on the Island.
