The Gatineau Olympiques forward scored a goal to help his team to a 7-3 win over the Charlottetown Islanders in a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game on Dec. 11.Arsenault’s goal at 6:46 of the third period gave the Olympiques a 6-2 lead. It was Arsenault’s sixth tally and 12th point in 30 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

Before 2,333 fans at Eastlink Centre, Samuel Savoie and Tristan Luneau each had four points to lead the Olympiques, who improved to 17-10-3-2 . Cole Cormier , Haakon Hanelt, and Marcel Marcel rounded out Gatineau’s scoring.Peter Repcik and Jérémie Biakabutuka replied for the Islanders , who dropped a 5-2 road decision to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Dec. 16. Jacob Squires, Owen Hollingsworth, and Brett Arsenault collected assists.Overall, Gatineau outshot Charlottetown 32-24.

Boudreau, a seventh-round pick of the Islanders in 2022, plays for the Northern Moose of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Under-18 Hockey League.The Olympiques scored twice on two power plays while the Islanders went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.The Islanders close out the first-half schedule with a home-and-home series against the Halifax Mooseheads this week. The teams meet in Halifax on Dec. 16 and in Charlottetown on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
