Don Cormier, vice-president of Northumberland Ferries Limited, said July 26 that it was unsafe to resume ferry service that day because there were divers in the water repairing the hull of the MV Holiday Island. Service aboard the MV Confederation will resume July 27. - Logan MacLeanWOOD ISLANDS, P.E.I. — Ferry service will resume July 27 between Wood Island, P.E.I., and Caribou, N.S., said Northumberland Ferries Limited in a news release July 26.
“Our customer care teams will be contacting customers who had reservations on sailings outside this interim four round-trip/day schedule to rebook them on one of the above sailings,” said Northumberland Ferries Limited vice-president Don Cormier in the news release.GOOD TO KNOW The MV Holiday Island is taking on water and recovery operations are what prevented ferry service from resuming on July 26, said Cormier.
