Police receive fewer calls from Bayfield Treatment Centre
Police calls to the Bayfield Treatment Centre in Consecon have been dropping over the past few months.
During Prince Edward County’s Police Services Board Meeting, OPP Staff Sgt. John Hatch said that police hadn’t received any calls to the property this month, down from five in June and 18 calls in May. Bayfield is a treatment centre for children and youth with behavioural, psychiatric and neuro-developmental issues.
Youth referred to the centre often present high-risk behaviours including aggression to others, self-harm and substance abuse.
