Danielle Smith is the guardian angel of Freedom Convoy zealots
Only eight weeks until an election in Alberta and it appears Premier Danielle Smith is still in thrall of rabid anti-vaxxers, freedom convoy zealots, and conspiracy-mongers.that was available all over the internet last week. In the recording Smith promises to go to bat for Artur Pawlowski just before he was due to go on trial for charges relating to a fiery speech he gave urging on protesters at the Freedom Convoy’s Coutts border blockade in February 2022.
As I wrote in a recent column, it was Pawlowski who presented German neo-fascist Christine Anderson with Calgary’s symbolic white cowboy hat as a welcome gesture. But long before that he was already well known for his bigoted behaviour.
