That said, the accused was convicted of impaired driving after nodding off in the middle of an intersection. “They were in her exclusive care at the time and they could not be reasonably expected to understand the risk that their mother placed them in or remove themselves from that situation in order to protect themselves,” Justice Leszczynski said of the children.“impaired driving is a serious crime that poses a significant threat to public safety.
