Another fire was spotted on the eastern side of Crotch Lake

New wildfire spotted in Sudbury, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry said in a release this late afternoon.

Sudbury 20, a 0.1-hectare fire, ignited in Greater Sudbury on an island on the western side of Whitewater Lake.In total, there are three active wildfires in the region, including Wawa 3, a 0.3-hectare fire that ignited approximately two km west of the narrows of Wabatongushi Lake. The fire hazard is mostly high across much of the northeast region. According to MNDMNRF, the far north, as well as parts of the Wawa sector, pose a low to moderate hazard. Areas posing an extreme hazard include north of Espanola and west of Greater Sudbury.
