Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has quickly delivered his plan. Thapelo Maseko is no longer winger.
While the 20-year-old winger won the CAF Most Promising Player as a winger last season, the club’s new coach Mngqithi told the media last week that Maseko will be moved from the winger to be a Sundowns striker.
“Many people believe he’s very strong in dribbling, I don’t think so. I think he’s very strong in the space behind because of the pace he has and he has a good finish. Those two things make him very dangerous as a nine because he’s also a strong boy. He may be small but he’s very strong. “You must know he’s a little bit powerful, and sometimes you can use him to block the centre-backs before he goes in because he’s quicker to arrive there.Playing in the club’s first match of the season in the MTN8 on Sunday against Polokwane City, Maseko replaced Peter Shalulile in the center forward position on 79 minutes.
