OFFICIAL: African FA demands CAF probe after referee attack

The Egyptian Football Association has issued a stern statement demanding an investigation by CAF after a referee from the country was attacked by players in the Confederation Cup.

The main point of contention was the fact that Marouf added more than 15 minutes of stoppage time after the regulation 90 minutes while the sides were held at 2-2, with the Moroccan club scoring their winner the late into the added time to advance to the next stage of the CAFCC. The EFA has since issued a statement on the attack on their match official, demanding an investigation by CAF into the matter.
