The central O-Train line that carries commuters between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair Station will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug.12 and remain closed for the following three days. The R1 replacement bus service will run for the full length of the Confederation Line during that time, matching the train’s scheduled frequency.

After that, LRT service will run with some modifications until Aug. 20th at 9 p.m. when the full line will be closed for another five days. The replacement bus service will again be put into action. In a memo to city council Monday, OC Transpo general manager Renée Amilcar said the work was originally scheduled for June but was postponed because of delays in the delivery of materials.

The scheduled work includes rail repairs, rail grinding and profiling, she said, that will ultimately improve “ride quality, customer comfort and overall sustainability.” “This work is being conducted during summer months in evenings and at night, when ridership is lower, to minimize customer impacts as much as possible,” Amilcar said.
