Ulster prop Tom O'Toole has been handed a six-game suspension for dangerous play, ruling him out of Ireland's opening two Six Nations matches.

Ulster prop Tom O’Toole will miss Ireland ’s first two Six Nations matches in 2025 after receiving a six-game suspension for dangerous play. The 26-year-old, who has 17 Ireland caps, was shown a red card for a dangerous clean-out on Munster centre Alex Nankivell during a Vodacom URC defeat by Munster at Kingspan Stadium last month. The URC stated that O’Toole breached a law relating to dangerous play in a ruck or maul.

O’Toole, who played for Ireland in the November internationals, will be suspended for the defending champions’ Six Nations opener against England on February 1st and the away game against Scotland on February 9th. O’Toole avoided a 10-game ban due to his “admission of foul play, immediate apology and again post match”, the URC said. The statement added that Ireland interim head coach Simon Easterby confirmed O’Toole had a “very good chance” of being named in matchday squads for the Six Nations.
