The Plettenberg Bay Regional Court heard that the man tried to rape the 10-year-old boy in September last year.
CAPE TOWN - The National Prosecuting Authority has welcomed the 15-year prison term handed down to a Western Cape man for attempting to rape his nephew.Fortunately, the boy's mother caught him in the act and he was arrested.
Western Cape NPA spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, said the man confessed and blamed drugs for his actions. "The court ordered his name to be entered into the National Register of Sex Offenders and declared him unfit to possess a firearm. The accused is not a first-time offender, as his criminal record reveals two previous convictions for sexual offences."
