Then he will struggle to regain momentum and it will probably be a slow death.”
When the last two were confirmed, the hostilities intensified. Mr Sunak’s allies said Ms Truss’s plans were a “suicide note” for the party, while Ms Truss’s staff briefed journalists that the ex-Chancellor was “unfit for office”.
