The Newfoundland Rogues kicked off their season with a win on Friday night.

They defeated the Raleigh Firebirds 104-98, extending the franchise’s undefeated streak to seven games, going back to last year’s COVID-interrupted season. Playing in front of a raucous crowd of just over 1,500, the Rogues were led by point guard Armani Chaney with 27 points. Returning guard Isaiah Hill and new forward Kenya Brown also made big contributions down the stretch to withstand a furious Raleigh rally and preserve the win.The Rogues will take on the Firebirds again tonight at 7 p.m. at Mary Brown’s Centre

Those with tickets for tonight who would like to exchange them for an alternate date can do so through the box office.
