The Newfoundland and Labrador government is celebrating and promoting International Transgender Day of Visibility on Friday, March 31. fileST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Newfoundland and Labrador government is celebrating and recognizing International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31.
The provincial government is highlighting the progress and achievements of people who are transgender throughout the province. March 31 is marked internationally to lift up transgender communities and acknowledge the discrimination felt in the community. Pam Parsons, minister responsible for women and gender equality, said International Transgender Day of Visibility is an important reminder that people should continue to promote respect and inclusivity and stand up to hate and discrimination.“Every person should be able to live safely and freely as their most authentic self.”
