Businesses in different parts of New York state will reopen on separate schedules, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday, as a growing number of upstate elected officials and employers made the case for a regional approach to easing restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus.
The Democratic governor said officials in 10 existing economic development zones around the state would monitor local data and come up with a plan on exactly which stores and activities can reopen and when.
