Michele Lowe, the executive director of the Nursing Homes Association of Nova Scotia, said infection control and other health/safety measures have greatly improved in the province since the pandemic. “So it’s hard to imagine that you can have a multi-million dollar organization, a budget with hundreds of staff and not have one dedicated individual for human resource planning.”Inspection policies questioned“It’s not about quality, they don’t measure quality, they don’t inspect quality,” she said.
“My mother was fed and toiletted and given her medications and between an hour and two hours a day, there was recreation,” she recounted in an interview Thursday.
