Pharmacists at Medicine Shoppe on Prince Street in Truro will be allowed to diagnose and treat some common illnesses like strep throat and prescribe medications for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Pharmacist and owner of The Medicine Shoppe, Tera Paley-Walser, said she is proud to be part of the program.
“My community needs this. I am so proud to be part of the solution for better health care,” said Paley-Walser.The pilot program is expected to be expanded in the spring.
