William Sandeson says he is not sure how far Taylor Samson was from him when he shot and killed him during a drug deal at his Halifax apartment in 2015, a jury heard Wednesday.
Crown attorney Carla Ball, left, and defence lawyer Alison Craig leave Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Dartmouth on Wednesday during a break at William Michael Sandeson’s first-degree murder trial. - Steve BruceDARTMOUTH, N.S. — William Michael Sandeson insists Taylor Samson’s body was in one piece when he removed it from his apartment in a duffel bag after shooting him during a drug deal in August 2015.
The trial got underway Jan. 9 at the Mellor Avenue courthouse. The Crown closed its case last week after calling evidence from about 40 people and tendering 107 exhibits. “You would agree with me that if you shoot someone with a semi-automatic handgun, they’re probably going to fall on the floor?” Ball said.
He said he dragged Samson’s body down the hall into the bathroom and lifted it into the bathtub, leaving it there while he tried to clean up the blood in the apartment.
