Nova Scotia reports five COVID-19 deaths, slight drop in new cases, hospitalizations | SaltWire

The total number of positive cases dropped by about 200 to 1,562 as of July 12, according to the Health Department’s COVID-19 dashboard. There are also 32 hospital patients with COVID-19 but who are being treated for something else, as well as 41 who contracted it after admission.The new deaths bring the total in Nova Scotia to 456 during the pandemic, including 344 since the Omicron waves began Dec. 8.The province is also gearing up to immunize children under five after Health Canada approved Moderna for that age range.
Children will be able to receive Moderna's pediatric COVID-19 vaccine, which is the only one approved in Canada for this age group.
