Mathoho is into his eleventh season at Chiefs and remains one of only two players at the club that have done a decade’s service along with Itumeleng Khune.

The 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order behind Siyabonga Ngezana and Njabulo Ngcobo as a right-sided central defender.The towering defender experienced a difficult end to the past season but survived the axe as he still has a running deal with the club.
