Drivers are facing delays on the M1 this morning

monitoring site Inrix said that delays remained despite the reopening. "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M1 Southbound from J26 A610 to J25 A52 Brian Clough Way . Congestion to J27 and A6002 Bilborough Road as traffic looks to diver to avoid the delays," it reads.

"Travel time is around 30 minutes. All lanes have been re-opened. Traffic was briefly held whilst the accident was moved onto the hard shoulder. lane one remained closed until around 07:35."
