Gauteng Traffic Police have advised motorists to avoid using the N12 highway exiting Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

The provincial traffic police spokesperson Sello Maremane says this is because protesters are burning tyres and barricading roads.

“Traffic is heavily congested this morning on the N12 heading out of Lenasia from the K43 off-ramp, all the way past pedestrian bridge due to protest action in the area. There is also a fatal crash on the N12 at Abu Baker Road. Motorists are urged to use alternative roads in order to avoid delays.
