A fatal accident involving a delivery motorcycle and two vehicles occurred in Camps Bay, Cape Town. The 30-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.
A tragic incident occurred at 2:26pm on Saturday at the corner of Dal Road and Camps Bay Drive, involving two vehicles and a Checkers delivery motorcycle. Police spokesperson Captain Frederick Van Wyk stated that the 30-year-old delivery motorcyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. While the cause of the accident is yet to be determined, SAPS confirmed that Camps Bay police are investigating a culpable homicide case.
Van Wyk urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111. According to City of Cape Town’s Ward 54 councillor Nicola Jowell, Camps Bay Drive remains closed to all traffic. This fatal accident follows another collision five days prior, on Monday, January 6th, involving a truck transporting non-potable water and several vehicles at the intersection of Camps Bay Drive and Geneva Drive.
