In addition to a new medical sciences building, CBU will work with Dalhousie University’s faculty of medicine to establish a collaborative-care clinic at the Nova Scotia Community CollegeCBU president and vice-chancellor David Dingwall called it a “monumental day” for the university and the health-care system.
“The new Cape Breton medical campus offers an opportunity to do things dramatically different. The students we admit, the places where they train and the case studies they work on together to the clinical faculty with expertise in rural and family medicine who support them. This will be a campus with a rural heartbeat, instilling a rural mindset within the next generation of doctors.
