Sky, GiffGaff and Cuckoo among mobile and broadband providers freezing prices to help hard-pressed customers

Broadband and mobile customers have faced huge price increases this year as providers tend to hike prices by inflation plus 3 to 4 per cent Mobile and broadband providers are freezing prices to help consumers cope with the cost of living crisis.until the end of 2023; broadband provider Cuckoo followed suit and said its prices will remain at 2020 levels for at least another year. “We want to show our customers we have their backs,” said Cuckoo boss Alex Fitzgerald.
He promised customers won’t get a price rise for a year and will “enjoy the same prices we started charging when we launched almost three years ago”.on its Openreach-based superfast, ultrafast and gigafast broadband packages, including some television bundles. The move effectively removed the usual mid-contract price hikes. Sky’s last increase, in February, added 5 per cent to customers’ bills.“At a time when many households across the UK are struggling to keep track of rising costs, price freezes are welcome news for customers who are looking for financial certainty,” said Ru Bhikha, mobiles expert at Uswitch.com.
