'There’s just no need for it'
'Mindless vandals' have struck at Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground in Stapleford as they vandalised and stole signs a part of the mini cycle track. The mini cycle track officially opened on April 8 and has since been enjoyed by park goers.
The cycle training track was funded through Stapleford Towns Fund's £4.6million Safer Cycling Scheme. He continued: “I know in the beginning a few people were unsure. But, since it has been built and it’s been open it’s always busy. “The kids love it, it’s a nice, safe and peaceful environment where not just local youngsters but youngsters from anywhere can come with their families. It’s a family friendly environment.”
“It's a small minority, that’s all it is. What angers me more is that it’s youngsters that live around here. They’ve got family, friends and relatives that can use that area.
