Hail, thunderstorms and ice are all on the way
Met Eireann says wintry falls "can't be ruled out" amid speculation that snow is going to hit the country. This weather event was responsible for the Beast from the East back in 2018.Despite what happened five years ago, this is not guaranteed to have the same impact or bring an abundance of snow.
"Some of the showers will be heavy, with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible in the west, while wintry falls can't be ruled out over higher ground. "Cloud will increase in the northwest towards morning though, with a few patches of light rain or drizzle developing."The forecast says: "Thursday will be mostly dry with sunny spells although they may turn hazy at times.
"Clear spells in the south and east early Thursday night but cloud will increase from the northwest with some localised outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at times.
