The new season of the venerable reality competition begins with a 2-hour opener, 8 p.m. March 9 on CBS. A 19-year-old Palo Alto student is one of the hopeful.
“Survivor” kicks off its 42nd season on Wednesday, March 9, with a slew of castaways that includes three Canadians, two stay-at-home parents, a waitress, a former firefighter, a veterinarian and a 19-year-old from Palo Alto.
Sherron says people always think of her as a strong leader who never makes mistakes, maybe because she’s “always in front of people in some sort of leadership role.” Not that stay-at-home moms can’t be leaders too, but we do have to wonder who it is she’s leading. Regardless, she says, it’s not true. She’s made loads of mistakes and learned lessons, but she’ll easily be able to convince the jury that she should win.
Oketch enjoys playing tabletop and video games, reading and snowboarding, hopefully not all at the same time. She really hates people who don’t listen to her, walk slowly in front of her, and people who don’t apologize. She claims to be a great listener. “Just because I talk a lot, it does not mean I am not listening,” she says. “People are so used to hearing me when I am there, so when I am quiet, people usually don’t think I’m there, and I can take notice on what they are saying.
