Erik Van Rooyen has been installed as the favourite to finish ahead of his South African compatriots Charl Schwartzel and Christo Lamprecht at the Masters.

Gary Player won the Masters three times and was in contention for a few more across a storied career that peaked in the 1960s and 1970s. In 2024 there will be three South Africans in the field with Schwartzel returning for a shot at another Masters title alongside a pair of countrymen chasing their first Major.
Schwartzel is no longer eligible to compete in PGA Tour events or the Presidents Cup after he resigned his Tour membership when defecting to LIV Golf.
