American singer Mariah Carey opens up about losing her mom and sister on the same day over the past weekend.
hitmaker Mariah Carey, who has a pair of twins with TV host Nick Cannon, lost both her mom and sister on the same day over the past weekend. Mariah told People that she is heartbroken after losing both her mother, Patricia and sister Alison on the same day.
“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed,” she continued. “Our relationship is a prickly rope of pride, pain, shame, gratitude, jealousy, admiration and disappointment. A complicated love tethers my heart to my mother’s,” she wrote in her memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, published in 2020.
