Prince County Courthouse. - Alison JenkinsSUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The man accused of manslaughter in the death of Lennox Island, P.E.I., resident Jamie Sark has had his case deferred for another month.
Christopher Douglas Sark, 32, also of Lennox Island, appeared in Provincial Court in Summerside on Wednesday, July 27. The proceedings only lasted a few minutes, just long enough for Judge Krista MacKay to allow Christopher’s lawyer another extension and give him more time to review the evidence. This is the third such deferral since the accused made his first court appearance on April 27. He has been in custody since his arrest a day earlier.Jamie, 28, was reported missing by his family on Aug. 25, 2021. An extensive search was conducted in Lennox Island and the surrounding area, and even extended into parts of Nova Scotia, but initially only found a few of his personal items. Jamie’s body was spotted by an RCMP helicopter in a heavily wooded area of Lennox Island on Nov. 12, 2021.
