Manchester United have now reportedly agreed a fee to sign a new forward to lead the line following Cristiano Ronaldo's exit from Old Trafford in November. 👀 More here! ▶

The Red Devils have been widely linked with a number of forwards in recent weeks, including Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix and Netherlands attacker Wout Weghorst.

With the former reportedly close to securing a loan move to Chelsea, it has been claimed United are now fully focused on signing the latter on a temporary basis. However, a potential deal for Weghorst is complicated as Besiktas, the club he is currently on loan at, have to agree to let the Dutchman leave in this window, while terms also need to be agreed with his parent club Burnley.

Now, though, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have reached a verbal agreement to sign the Netherlands striker on a six-month loan. The Turkish club were initially adamant that the 30-year-old would be staying with them until the end of the season unless adequate compensation was paid, and it is now reported that the Red Devils have agreed to pay Besiktas about €3 million to end their loan agreement with Burnley for the player., however, United have to wait for Besiktas to find a replacement before they can officially sign the Dutch international.

Weghorst has nine goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions for the Super Lig giants so far this season.
