Courtesy of familyThe suspect, Haiko-Lamar Joseph Calhoun, 26, was arrested on Smithfield Street shortly after the alleged attack, TribLive.com said, citing court records.
Officers say Calhoun slammed Gilmore’s head into the ground several times and kicked and stomped on him while taking multiple items, including his pants.Calhoun reportedly walked away and came back several times during the beating. Calhoun told police that Gilmore said something offensive to him that caused the altercation, the outlet said.As of Thursday, the alleged attacker — who was unhoused at the time of his arrest — remains at the Allegheny County Jail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and recklessly endangering another person.
The hotel’s second set of ground-level doors are locked from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day, and are only accessible by guest key, staff explained to the outlet.
