Officers were called to Stoneymeadow Road on Monday morning and the road has been closed between Blantyre and East Kilbride, with the public urged to find alternative routes.
The alarm was raised just after 8am on Monday. At around 10.30am Lanarkshire Police Division released a statement confirming that Stoneymedow Road, between Blantrye and East Kilbride, had been sealed off to the public.
The statement read: "Stoneymeadow Road is currently closed between Blantyre and East Kilbride due to a police incident. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.READ MORE: Police at Glasgow pub as staff 'worried' after 'disturbance at premises'
