Manchester City have reportedly agreed to make a Croatian centre-back the most expensive defender in the world.
European and English champions Manchester City have now reportedly reached an agreement on a record-breaking deal to sign an international star., Pep Guardiola's side have reached an agreement with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for the transfer of Croatia international Josko Gvardiol.
Guardiola is believed to be a massive fan of the left-footed central defender and was determined to land his signature. The Premier League champions and Leipzig are understood to have been in talks over the transfer for more than a month, but after the drawn-out negotiations, it appears the Citizens have finally got their man.
The 21-year-old is scheduled to undergo a medical later this week as he looks to become the second Croatian to make his way to the Etihad Stadium this off-season, following Mateo Kovacic's switch from Chelsea.Gvardiol has played a pivotal role for both club and country in recent seasons, helping his nation to a second successive FIFA World Cup semi-final appearance in Qatar last year and playing his part in Leipzig's back-to-back DFB-Pokal triumphs.
