The attempted robbery occurred in Akron's Highland Square neighborhood, police say.
AKRON, Ohio — A 63-year-old man was cut in the hand when he fought with a suspect who had jumped into his vehicle and attempted to rob him, police say.
The victim had stopped his vehicle at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Crosby Street and Oakdale Avenue in the Highland Square neighborhood when a man armed with a knife entered through the passenger side, police say. The suspect threatened the driver, demanding his valuables. Police say the victim began fighting with the suspect, who ended up running from the area. No arrests have been made, but the male suspect is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old.
