A man has been left fighting for his life and a woman has been arrested following an incident in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of the morning.

The taxi driver, a man in his 50s, also required treatment for neck injuries. Merseyside Police said efforts are ongoing to locate the Audi driver, who they said ran off on foot following the crash, while a passenger was detained at the scene, the ECHO reports. Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, lead investigating officer for the MATRIX serious collision investigation unit said, “An investigation has been launched following this collision, which has left a 44-year-old man with serious injuries.
