They have premises in London, Manchester and Solihull, with the Silverburn showroom its first proposed venture north of the border.
Swedish firm Polestar has lodged plans to convert the former Argos store in Silverburn into a new high-tech 'automotive space' to showcase its futuristic fleet of electric vehicles.
The manufacturer's showrooms are unlike conventional forecourts, instead focusing on the concept and unique engineering processes used to build their range of electric vehicles.A Polestar spokesperson explained:"We view our spaces like art galleries, where the cars are the exhibits, allowing people to familiarise themselves with the cars and the brand without pressure or distraction.
If approved, three vehicles will be on display at any given time, with the unit open Monday to Friday from 10am to 9pm, Saturday between 9am and 7pm and on Sundays from 10am to 7pm.
